Deadmau5, Justice, Eric Prydz and the Plump DJs rocking the O2, in London January 7, 2010 View Comments

I don’t usually plug other mixes but I think this Essential Mix is a must. This features 2 producers/DJs I had the pleasure to watch in 2009, Deadmau5 in Lisbon (Optimus Alive) and Eric Prydz in the closing of Eden in Ibiza (you can read all about it here). Both of them delivered in those respective parties, but obviously this party on New Year’s Eve was just as good.

Pete Tong shared it, so here it is. What a great way to finish/start a year. I remember looking for clips on Youtube the moment I got home and couldn’t find any decent Eric Prydz’s ones, and now I get the whole mix to listen to!

You can listen to it (streaming) here, MixRiot is an amazing site for mixes.

Oh, Happy New Year, by the way!

So this is the first mix with my new new toy, the Ecler Evo 5! I think the end result was pretty good for a first time, obviously a lot of effects etc as usual when we are still learning what each button does!

There are some strong tracks here, like Wippenberg‘s stuff (who is also Sphaere), Muse and Prodigy (went to both concerts recently here in Lisbon) and a remix of my favorite band of 2009, Yeah Yeah Yeahs!

Download it here or stream it below.

Enjoy!

… the Evo 5 has arrived! December 8, 2009 View Comments

It took a while, but my new setup is finally complete. After buying a new Intel Core i7 and a 26-inch screen, it was time for the highly anticipated Ecler Evo 5. This is by far the best mixer I have ever touched and really think this is the most advanced DJ mixer in the market right now (and yes, I am including the Xone 4D).

Here are a couple of pictures. I’ve been practicing and getting used to it so that I can present you all a quality December mix!

This is a roller coaster mix. Things have been kinda crazy lately so I tried to portray exactly that by blending big, energetic tracks with more mellow, introspective sounds in between. This is my first mix with 2 MIDI controllers: I used my Axiom 61! A 3rd MIDI Controller, my new Mixer, is already on its way to Lisbon!

A couple of tunes of the year here: Steve Angello’s Monday will be huge, In for the Kill and what about Eric Prydz’s new remix?

Download it here or stream it below.

Enjoy!

This mix may be the best I have done in a long time- I actually believe it may be the best 65 minutes of music I ever blended and I have been doing this for years. I think it’s a great journey with a lot of different sounds- hopefully, you will like it too.

My apologies for a couple of small sound glitches you may hear- they are discreet but they are there, blame the software! Speaking of software, this is the first mix I posted with my new core i7 super PC and may be the last one I post without my future mix, the Ecler Evo 5!

Download it here or stream it below.

Enjoy!
